Congratulations to AMIS members on Receiving Awards at the GBANDT Forum

In October 2025, the 3rd Guangdong-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area Nondestructive Testing Forum was held in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. Professor Yanfeng Shen won the Young Scientist Award at the conference, an honor recognizing exceptional innovation and creativity in the field of nondestructive testing and structural health monitoring.

AMIS student, Mr. Hexuan Xu, participated in the student presentation competition and delivered an oral presentation about his recent research progress on elastic metamaterials for nondestructive evaluation. The corresponding study proposed the design of an elastic wave diode featuring the integration of symmetric units and defects, which can leverage the phenomenon of asymmetric guided wave energy transmission to detect damage in structures and achieve damage localization. Finally, Hexuan Xu’s presentation stood out in the fierce competition and won the Best Student Paper Award.
