Professor Rui Zhu from Beijing Institute of Technology visited JI
Professor Rui Zhu, from School of Aerospace Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology visited JI and delivered a talk entitled“Elastic Metamaterial: Microstructure Design and Subwavelength Wave Control” on May 23th, 2018, in Long Bin building.
Biosketch:
Rui Zhu is a Professor at the School of Aerospace Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology. He received his PhD in 2013 at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Then, he became a Postdoctoral Fellow and later on, a Research Associate at North Carolina State University (2014), University of Missouri (2015) and University of Washington-Seattle (2015), respectively. After his cross-continental travel in US, he decided to fly across the Pacific Ocean and rejoin Beijing Institute of Technology where he obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees. His research interests include elastic/acoustic metamaterials, low-frequency vibration/noise control, super-resolution imaging and structure health monitoring. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal papers including one first-author paper in Nature Communications and two first-author papers selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers (Top 1%). He has been recuited in the “Young 1000 Talent Program (Type-A)” in 2017. He is also an invited reviewer for numerious top jounrals such as: Physical Review Letters, IEEE-ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, Materials & Design etc.
