The SAFE-DISPERSION is a software GUI to compute and display the wave-propagation features of elastic waveguides with arbitrary cross-sections, including 1D (infinite plates), 2D classic shapes (beams or cylinders), and 2D generic shapes (T-shape bars, rails, etc.). The piezoelectric effect can also be chosen to be activated or deactivated. Typical material properties are provided for the user’s convenience. The corresponding dispersion curves (i.e., phase velocities, group velocities, and frequency-wavenumber relations) and mode shapes can be readily chosen for plotting. All the calculated results are fully available to the user and can be saved for further manipulation.
